How to install the program: basic guide
In short, the programs forcomputers (or software) is a set of components, without which the computer can not fully perform all its functions. At the head of the software, which is installed on a personal computer (PC), of course, is the operating system. The first place for almost twenty years is occupied by Microsoft with its Windows (98, XP, 7, Vista). Today the product from Bill Gates is installed on almost 90% of computers around the world. Therefore, if you are asking yourself how to install the program, you need to understand that almost all of them are developed specifically under "Windows".
In other words, the OS is only a collectionBasic programs, which are united by one graphical shell. By default, "Windows" includes such popular programs as "Internet Explorer", video and audio player "Windows Media Player", text editors, etc. However, their capabilities are clearly not enough for modern users, so installing programs on the computer is a must after installing "Windows".
The vast majority of programs are distributedin the "packed" (archived) form. Therefore, for a normal installation process, they need to be "unpacked" (WinRAR or any other archiver is suitable for this). In the OS "Windows", the installation process in most cases occurs automatically and requires minimal user activity. We select a folder or create a new one in one of the hard disk partitions, and then "unpack" the installation exe-file of the program into it. Then double-click the left mouse button to start this file and now we select the folder in which all the components of the program will be located. Make sure that there is enough disk space (usually programs check this parameter and issue an appropriate notification), otherwise the program will not be installed completely.
Often those who do not know how to install the program run the wrong files. Typically, the installer file is called setup, or install. By default, all programs are installed in theone folder - Program Files, which is located on the local disk in the root folder "Windows". However, if you are installing a computer game, it is better to change the settings by specifying the path to another disk, so as not to clutter the disk with the OS large files.
It also happens that the user knows how toinstall the program, and does everything right, but nothing works. The fact is that for the proper operation of some software, certain components are required. For example, the computer game of 2012 release is unlikely to "go" without the latest version of "DirectX", and the audio player - without the installed codecs for sound ("K-Lite Codec Pack", etc.). After installing some powerful applications or games, you may also need to restart your computer.
Uninstalling programs (uninstall) shouldto come from a special manager, which can be called from the control panel (Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs). Select the unnecessary program and click on "Delete". Here you can also install the missing components of "Windows" (for example, "Word") from the disk. Some programs are also distributed in special image files that have the format .iso or .img. In order to open a similar format, any program for creating virtual images ("Alcohol", "DAEMON Tools") will do.
This basic information is enough to understand how to install the program.
